manipulated by poop

So Luke has decided to skip his afternoon nap the last two days, so today he went down for his morning nap at 8:45am. How does a 14-month old get out of taking an afternoon nap you ask? Well, I have a theory: He refuses to poop all day, and then as soon as you put him in the crib, he decides that this is the perfect time to have a MAN-Size poop. This is the sequence of events: Snack, story, cuddle with puppy, rock in rocking chair, (Luke is getting drowsy) and then off to nap time. Quiet for about 5 minutes, then I hear him playing. I let him hang for about 5-10 minutes before going in to see what he is really up to. And he is just playing. So we rock in the chair for a little longer to get him "back in the mood". Down for nap—again. Another 10 minutes, and he is still down there playing. So down I go again. This time when I open the door, a fowl smell smacks me in the face. There is Luke, standing and smiling proud. So now he gets a diaper change, which he mistakes for time to get up and play. So after he is all cleaned up we head back to the rocking chair to "get the mood" back. Luke is not having it, so he goes back to his crib to settle himself down. It is now 40 minutes since he "went down for a nap" He will spend the next 20 minutes mocking me and refusing to sleep. Eventually I give up, and out he comes. He is a joy for about 30 minutes until complete sleep deprivation sets in and the cranky baby arrives. Dinner and bath time are super fun and then he passes out at 6:20pm. I'm hoping for better luck today.
