cloth diapering

Now that we are a one income family, I'm constantly trying to save money. I had a coupon for 5$ off a box of Jumbo diapers at Babies R Us. I was a loyal pampers user, but the Especially for Baby brand is much cheaper. So I bought a box of them instead. I don't like them as much, but they were less expensive. Then I had a thought, what about cloth diapering. It kind of grosses me out, but so does the mountain of disposable diapers I've added to the landfill. A mom in my MOMS group hosted a "workshop" about cloth diapering and an "expert" mom give a little talk about cloth diapering. It's not as scary as I thought it would be, and the diapers they have today are not what our parents used on us. They have "snappies" which are a pin alternative. I was thrilled to hear that. Plus, the impact on my wallet and the environment make it worth looking into. So I'm making the plunge. I've ordered a "starter" cloth diapering kit that will allow me to try it at minimum cost. Diapers should arrive in a 7-10 days. I will let you all know how it goes.
