I cooked my coffee pot
What?! is your reaction to that title. So Mike brought home his 1-cup Keurig coffee maker this week for me to try while he was out of town. I put my other coffee pot on the shelf to make room for the Keurig on my counter. But if course, Luke had to play with it. And since I am running out of places that are tall enough to be out of his reach, I moved the coffee pot to my stove top (I have one of those flat cook-tops. Well, I must have hit the knob when I put the pot down and turned the burner on–HIGH. Then I whisked Luke to the living room so that I could distract him out of the tantrum he was having for taking away HIS coffee pot. I dug out a new DVD for him that was still wrapped, and went back to the kitchen to get the scissors to open it, only to smell a horrid smell and frantically wondering where the burning plastic smell was coming from. Hello burning/smoking coffee pot on my stove. AHHHRRRGGGG!!!!! I really need to get more sleep so I don't burn the house down.

I cooked an empty teapot. Right after we moved into this house, I used the wrong knob on the stove. I couldn't fingure out why the pot on the other burner wasn't heating up, yet it smelled like something burning. Ugh.
