Peanuts and Playgrounds … again
So I took the kids to the playground again. Another mom from Luke's playgroup just happened to be there, whom I like very much and her kids are great. They both play very well with Luke. But with her was a friend of her's and her two kids, one about age 3 and one in a stroller, probably about 9 months. well, the kids wanted a snack. She pulls about snack sized bags of trail mix, with, you guessed it, peanuts. And NOT just peanuts, but other nuts as well. I let her know that Luke has a peanut allergy, and she says, "Oh, OK". Then proceeds to dump the trail mix out onto the picnic table. WHAT?!, You have got to be kidding me! Luke, of course, leans over to investigate and help himself. I quickly step in and say, "Luke, don't touch!" And remove him from the situation. Well, you all know where I stand on peanuts and the playground. And as a side note, she picked up the nuts when the kids were done, but did NOT wipe down the table.

how insensitive. surprising she would even pack that for snack with such little kids - even I would be panicking about the choking hazard if someone dumped nuts in front of Cameron.
