I'm really starting to miss sleep

"But you don't have a newborn anymore!" Yes, but I was not blessed with good sleepers. Someone told me that if you have a bad sleeper, your second child will be a good one. What a big fat lie. I haven't really slept in almost 3 years. Another fun little fact no one tells you about is prego insomnia. I was blessed with this as well. So for the last 3 months of my pregnancy with Luke I slept on the couch a few hours at a time. This happened with Gavin as well.

Lately, Luke has been waking up at 11pm on the dot. So as soon as I get into bed and doze off, I am woken up to the "NNNNOOOOO!!" screams coming from Luke's room. The past few nights the boys have been tag teaming me. Last night, Luke got up at 10:15 (earlier than usual) I get into bed a little past 10:30. Gavin is up at 11. Luke gets up again at 11:30. Gavin at midnight. ARGH! I JUST WANT TO SLEEP! And the top it off, Gavin was up at 5:30 this morning. Another long day.

I'm with you! Between Maya and Finn I am up 5-6 times a night sometimes. Finn's going through an AWFUL sleep stage. I am forcing him not to nap so that he'll sleep at night. So far it's working... Hang in there!

I haven't slept good in 9 years. I have heard it all from everyone, especially the ones that say it's my fault the kids don't sleep because they do not have a schedule...who does, really?
Not to mention when they sneak in those naps at mealtime and we don't dare wake them because we know what lies ahead.
Maybe when they go to school. I have hope.

Sleep, the ever elusive dream time.
I seem to always have had sleep issues.
I didn't know how bad they were until I couldn't sleep when pregnant (just like you) and then my daughter was s superior NON sleeper. She slept in 20 minutes increments until she was 18 months.
I'm really messed up now and dealing with major sleep issues, not really insomnia, but waking up too early and only getting 4-5 hours a night. Not necessarily a good thing after four years of no sleep.
My four year old is finally sleeping, but gets up in the middle of the night to look for us. My two year old sleeps through the night now, and only wakes up occasionally.
I'm the one who needs help now!
Good luck with your sleeping.
