Milestones

As a parent, I have been marking the milestones of the boys; first smile, first tooth, crawling, first steps, first words and the list goes one. Luke is on the brink of a major milestone—potty training. Yesterday we had two successful "events" on the potty. Luke did poop and pee on the potty by telling me he had to go before going in his pants, and then again before his tub time. I asked him if he wanted to go to the store to pick out big boy underwear to wear instead of diapers. He said yes. So I will be attempting to get him to go on the potty a few times today as well before I go full force in having him in underwear.

Anyone have any advice/tips or things that worked for their kids? I'm all ears.

Once you decide to give up diapers during the day don't go back. They figure out that it is work after awhile and regress, to give in sets you back in the training. I use to make Jocelyn help me clean up the accidents when they happened and then she relized that was even more work.

Go potty before you leave the house even if he went recently.

I once read to help boys to learn how to stand up put cheerios in the toilet and have them practice aim. No clue when you teach boys to pee standing up though

I still use pull ups at night with Jocelyn she sleepsanout 10 hours straight at night so it is still to difficult for her brain to wake her at night.

Good Luck to you...

Congrats Luke on becoming a Big Boy!!
