Photo Restoration

My mother found an old photo of my grandmother when she was a baby. This photo was in sad shape. So I decided I would retouch it and make it like new again. Here are the before and after.



This photo was actually a postcard, and I was wondering if this is what they used to send for a birth announcement back in 1924. Anyone know?
